The accused woman's mum used to work as a maid at the home of a person named Ramesh Kumar. Recently, she got married to him, and was staying at his house.

Police officials say that she was the third spouse of Kumar, who had a five-year-old son from his earlier marriage.

Kumar had a fan manufacturing unit in Delhi; however, as a consequence of losses in his business due to COVID-19 pandemic, he needed to shut down his manufacturing facility.

Apparently, he was earning money by renting out several of his properties.
