Temperatures dip to 12 degrees Celsius in some parts of UAE; more rains on the way
Temperatures dip to its lowest level this week, as official start of winter approaches
Dubai: It’s a very cold morning in some parts of the UAE today, Tuesday, with temperatures dipping to one of its lowest levels this month.
Readings at the country’s highest peak, Jais Mountain in Ras Al Khaimah, touched 12 degrees Celsius at 3:15 am today, the lowest so far in over seven days.
More wet weather is also on the way to the coastal and northern regions, as well as over to the islands. For the rest of the country, some wispy to heavy clouds may be rolling in again, softening the sunlight at times.
However, beachgoers have been warned to take precautions, with waves forecast to reach up to four to six feet high on average, and seven feet at times today through Wednesday, 4am. Yellow alerts have been raised to warn beachgoers in Dubai, Umm Al Quwain and Abu Dhabi.
Winds will also be packing up speeds up to 45 kilometres per hour at times, stirring up dust and causing poor visibility in exposed areas.
“[The weather will be] partly cloudy to cloudy, with a chance of rainfall, especially over the islands and some coastal and northern areas,” the National Centre for Meteorology (NCM) said.
“Light to moderate winds, freshening at times, causing blowing dust with poor horizontal visibility at times over the exposed areas.”
