Abu Dhabi: The UAE’s Moon-Sighting Committee will hold a virtual meeting on Monday after Maghreb prayers to sight the crescent moon of Ramadan.

The committee will be chaired by Sultan Saeed Al Badi Al Dhaheri, Minister of Justice.

Sharia courts will also participate in the process of sighting the moon and inform the committee of their findings.

Saudi Arabia announced that the crescent moon had not been sighted on Sunday, and that the committee will try again on Monday, as there is no evidence of the birth of the new moon.
