Emirati chosen as first female Abu Dhabi Police officer to work at Interpol

Cybercrime analyst Captain Hagar was previously honoured as top officer in technical field

Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi Police have appointed Captain Hagar Rashid Al Naeemi, a digital crime analyst, to work as a liaison officer at the Singapore-based Innovation Centre of Interpol (International Criminal Police Organisation).

Over the next three years, Capt Hagar will gain more global practical experience in cybercrime analysis.

Capt Hagar is the first Emirati police officer from the Middle East specialising in the field of Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality, and the first female police officer from Abu Dhabi Police working for Interpol.

Interpol’s Innovation Centre is working on developing the latest ways to combat international crime, with academics, analysts and international law enforcement staff, as well as technology specialists sharing expertise.

Major General Thani Batti Al Shamsi, director of the Saif bin Zayed Academy for Police and Security Sciences, expressed the appreciation for Abu Dhabi Police with Capt Hagar joining Interpol.

He added that the cadres of Abu Dhabi Police are internationally recognised for their expertise and providing added value to security and police work.

Who is Capt Hagar?

Capt Hagar has a Master of Diplomacy with honours. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in information systems management.

The analyst began her career by checking electronic criminal records before assuming the position of Director of the International Training Branch at the Centre for International Participations and Cooperation.

Capt Hagar also served as Head of the Virtual Training Department at the Saif Bin Zayed Academy for Police and Security Sciences.

She has received a number of awards, including the Commander-in-Chief’s Award for the best police officer in Abu Dhabi Police in the technical field.

Capt Hagar has participated in many local and international conferences and exhibitions, and played a prominent role in the Abu Dhabi Police Youth Council.
