Laundry and three shisha cafés shut down in Dubai for breaking COVID-19 safety rules

Municipality also issues 16 “alerts” during 200-plus inspection visits on Friday

Dubai: Dubai Municipality has shut down four outlets for breaking COVID-19 safety rules, officials announced on Saturday.

As part of intensified inspections, one laundry in Al Mara, and three shisha cafés in Al Twar 2 and Oud Metha 1 were closed. The number of inspection visits reached 204 on Friday, during which 16 “alerts” to businesses were also issued.

Meanwhile the overall “commitment rate” reached 88 per cent during the inspections.
