Manama: A Saudi driver has miraculously survived a fall into a 15-metre-deep hole in Dammam in Eastern Saudi Arabia.

The man who was not identified was driving on a back street when he swerved to avoid a sign in the Tayyiba neighbourhood in the city and fell into the hole.

Witnesses rushed to pull him out of the car and take him out of the hole. He was later taken to a local hospital, local Arabic daily Al Sharq reported on Saturday.

According to the newspaper, the hole was due to a project in the area.
