Saudi police bust attempt to smuggle 107kg of hashish in vehicle trunk

Abu Dhabi: Saudi Jazan police have stopped an attempt to smuggle 107kg of hashish creatively hidden in a trunk of a vehicle driven by a Saudi citizen, police said.

“This was definitely a significant interception of hard narcotics that our frontline officers accomplished,” said Colonel Ahmed Al Towayyan, director of relations and media at the Ministry of Interior Agency for Security Regiments Affairs.

“Keeping drugs out of our communities is a top priority for Saudi field operations,” he said.

The accused and the total bust were referred to the Public Prosecution, police said.
