Saudi Arabia: Two men arrested for showing off with money, drugs

Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi: Two men, a Saudi and a Syrian, in their 30, were arrested after they posted a so-called haul video on social media, showing off with cash and drugs, police said.

The duo filmed themselves as they were travelling in a car and flaunting their money and drugs on Riyadh highways, and posted the footage on social media, Major Khaled Al Kreidis, spokesperson of Riyadh Police, said.

Saudi Arabia has warned makers of online live shows and livestream e-commerce platforms that promote “bad habits” such as showing off cash could face jail.

The suspects were remanded in custody pending moving to the Public Prosecution for further questioning and trial, police added.
