One dead, six hurt after explosion in Riyadh

Dubai: One person died and six others were injured in an explosion apparently triggered by a gas leak at a restaurant in Al Munsiyah district, Riyadh local media reported.

Upon receiving a report of the incident, the General Directorate of Civil Defense dispatched a team of firefighter to the scene of the explosion which resulted in a huge blaze at one of the restaurant in Al Munsiyah neighbourhood in Riyadh.

The accident took the life of one worker of the restaurant and injured six others, who are currently in stable condition.

The Civil Defense said that the restaurant and some nearby shops were damaged as a result of the accident.
