Dubai: Patrolling the skies is by no means an easy task. But the view these pilots are able to get when ending their Ramadan fast is certainly worth it.

A Saudi photographer has shared his snaps of security pilots as they work from a Black Hawk chopper.

In the collection of photos, which have been rapidly circulating across social media, the pilots are shown eating dates and drinking water 2,500 feet above ground.

The pilots keep a constant look-out for any security threat throughout all four corners of Makkah, especially near the Grand Mosque.

On his Twitter account, Yassir Bakhsh also posted photos of the 601-metre-tall Makkah clock tower; the tallest building in Saudi Arabia.

The tower is 35 times the size of Big Ben.

The clock’s four faces are illuminated by a combined total of two million LED lights, which is visible from 30 kilometres away as it flashes during the day's five calls to prayer.
