Total infections rise to 338,132 while total recoveries reach 323,769

Dubai: Saudi Arabia today announced the detection of 421 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of confirmed infections in the kingdom to 338,132, the Ministry of Health said.

Twenty-five people died from complications caused by COVID-19 over the past 24 hours, taking the tally of virus-related fatalities to 4,972.

The ministry also reported 561 new recoveries in the past 24 hours, raising the total number of people recovered from the deadly virus to 323,769, with the recovery rate climbing to 95.75 per cent.

Of the new cases reported today, Medina recorded 57 infections followed by Yanbu with 38 and Mecca with 36. The remaining cases were detected in different cities and governorates across the Kingdom.

Active cases declined to 9,391, out of which 879 are critical.
