Muscat: Oman’s Supreme Committee has decided to keep Dhofar governorate and the state of Masirah closed until further notice as part of the preventive measures against the spread of COVID-19, the Oman News Agency (ONA) reported Tuesday.

ONA also reported that Omani nationals who have requested to travel abroad during this time have been given permission. However, they must agree to return once their reason for travelling overseas has been met.

The Supreme Committee has also expressed its concern at the rising number of cases among citizens and residents, and has asked everyone to take caution during the pandemic.
