Manama: A Kuwaiti newspaper, on Sunday, denied a report on a government ban on the use of DSLR digital cameras with single lens reflex.

"On Saturday, November 20, 2010, Kuwait Times published an article titled 'Multi ministry camera ban frustrates artists' in which incorrect information was provided. The newspaper regrets failing to verify the information," the daily said.

"The article wrongly stated that a ban on DSLR cameras was implemented by the ministries of information, social affairs and finance. This information is false. In a follow up investigation, it was proved that no such ban has been issued," said the paper, offering its apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Several publications followed up on the news about the alleged ban, prompting concern amongst photographers in Kuwait and overseas and confusing visitors about the right to use cameras in Kuwait.
