Manama: A Kuwaiti health official has denied media reports that two students had contracted tuberculosis (TB).
"Only one female student tested positive for TB and she was asked not to attend school temporarily as a precaution against possible spread of infection," Qais Al Doweiri, health ministry assistant undersecretary for public health affairs, said.
"Tests conducted on all the people in close contact with the student were negative. She is receiving medical care at the lung rehabilitation center of Al Farwaniya Hospital," the official told Kuwait news Agency (Kuna).
