Cairo: Bahraini personalities representing different categories of society participated in a ceremony marking the signing of a historic peace treaty between Bahrain and Israel.
Several participants gave addresses on the occasion, voicing backing for the pact aimed at furthering peacemaking and promoting tolerance, the Bahraini newspaper Al Bilad reported.

The participants also cut a cake decorated with the flags of Bahrain, the UAE and Israel along with the word peace in Arabic, English and Hebrew.
On September 15, Bahrain and the UAE signed landmark US-mediated peace treaties with Israel at a White House ceremony.
The pacts make the UAE and Bahrain the fourth Arab countries having diplomatic ties with Israel after Egypt and Jordan.
