UAE-bound PIA plane returns to Peshawar after technical snag

Peshawar: A UAE-bound Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight was forced to return after it developed a technical glitch as soon as it took-off, on Friday.

The PIA flight PK-257 from Peshawar was enroute to Sharjah when the incident occurred, according to ARY news. .

The flight took off from Bacha Khan International Airport in Peshawar with 100 passengers on-board but soon encountered a fault in its landing gear, the Tribune adds.

Attempts to close the landing gear was not successful and the pilot was forced to return to the Peshawar airport and land the plane. The plane was landed safely and there are no reports of any casualties.

In an unrelated incident, another PIA airline, PK-650, from Lahore to Islamabad had also made emergency landing due to malfunctioning engine.
