The mission stressed verifying all overseas job offers through official, trusted sources
Dubai: The Pakistani Embassy in the UAE has issued a strong advisory urging citizens to be extremely cautious when responding to online job advertisements, particularly those offered outside the UAE.
In a social media post, the embassy warned that several individuals have recently fallen victim to fraudulent overseas employment schemes, leading to serious complications.
The mission stressed the importance of verifying all job offers outside the UAE through official and trusted sources to avoid being misled.
Meanwhile, Sharjah Police have reported a decline in cybercrime cases in early 2025, yet fake job offers and deceptive ads continue to top scam reports.
Authorities stated that these online schemes aim to steal personal data or money by luring victims with unrealistic job opportunities or product deals.
Authorities urge residents to verify sources, use strong passwords, and enable two-factor authentication. Sharjah Police encourage the public to report suspicious activity through their “Haris” service or by contacting dedicated helplines.
