Islamabad: Pakistani army chief General Raheel Sharif yesterday warned intelligence agencies of foreign states against aiding insurgents in the country’s southwestern Balochistan province. He delivered the warning during a day’s visit to Balochistan’s capital Quetta where he was briefed at the Frontier Corps headquarters on the law and order situation in the province, which borders both Iran and Afghanistan.
Last week 20 labourers, all from other provinces, were gunned down by ethnic Baloch militants in the remote Turbat district of the mineral-rich province.
