Islamabad: The 49-member legislative assembly in the Pakistan-administered part of Kashmir Thursday elected Sardar Atiq Ahmad Khan as prime minister of the state, replacing Raja Farooq Haider Khan, in the state capital Muzaffarbad.
The new chief executive was later sworn in by Raja Zulqarnain, president of Pakistan-administered Kashmir.
Khan, head of the Muslim Conference party, secured 39 votes.
