London: Former Pakistan Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto has denied reports that she met an emissary of President General Pervez Musharraf and has struck a deal for reconciliation.
"It's all hogwash. I haven't been approached by anyone, not even once. My party hasn't closed the door on negotiations, but I need to find out first what his [Musharraf] plan is," the chairperson of Pakistan's People's Party (PPP) told Gulf News in an exclusive interview.
"Until now what I have got from him is threats, threats and more threats. I have been told to remain out of the country and quit politics. Under the present circumstances, I can't even contest a parliamentary election. What's more, I can't even campaign for my party. They have threatened to ruin not just me but my entire family," she said.
Rubbishing the Interpol notices against her as "bogus" and "based on falsehood", Benazir accused Musharraf of crippling the judiciary and civil society.
