Islamabad: The widower of former Pakistani leader Benazir Bhutto Asif Ali Zardari was sworn in as the new president of Pakistan on Tuesday.
Zardari took oath during a ceremony led by Pakistan's top judge in the presidential palace, recently vacated by Pervez Musharraf.
The new president now faces crucial tasks in the country, including immediate pressure to crack down on Islamic militants and address daunting economic problems.
