Abu Dhabi: In line with ‘Year of the 50th’ celebrations marking five decades of the UAE’s union, the UAE Golden Jubilee Committee has launched an online school kit that encourages students to participate in the celebrations.
Students and schools across the UAE have been urged to download the free ‘Imagining Your Future’ school kit, which includes printable stickers, decorative items, postcards and desk tags. Students can then use the postcards to write a letter to their future selves, detailing their plans for the next 50 years. Submitted postcards will then be presented to the students as a nostalgic keepsake upon graduation.
Children can also make creative decorations with the kit and engage in arts and crafts related to the historic themes of the UAE.
The Golden Jubilee Committee said these activities for children are designed to help the younger generation creatively learn about the values that have guided the UAE over the last 50 years, and to increase their knowledge of the country they call home.
The rolling campaign, which is targeted to children of all ages, is set to continue until December 2 - the National Day of the UAE.
Schools, educators and parents alike are encouraged to participate in the nationwide celebration of the UAE’s Golden Jubilee, and make use of these kits, which include decorative hanging elements that represent objects unique to the UAE — such as forts, spacecraft and the UAE map — to educate young minds about the country’s history and culture.
