Dubai: The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) issued an orange and yellow fog alert over parts of the UAE today.
According to the NCM, fog was reported over Madinat Zayed in Al Dhafra region this morning. Additionally, the yellow fog alert was over Habshan and Liwa regions.
Abu Dhabi Police also issued an advisory, calling on motorists to exercise caution as visibility will be reduced due to the fog. The post shared on X, urges motorists to follow changing speed limits displayed on electronic information boards.
The NCM forecast also states residents in the Eastern and Southern regions of the country can expect rainfall as convective clouds formations are expected today.
Humid weather conditions are also forecast for tonight and on Monday, July 21, morning over some Western coastal and internal areas of the country, with a probability of fog or mist formation.
Temperature highs are forecast to be between 40 and 45 degree Celsius but might feel higher due to humidity which is expected to be between 70% and 90%. Temperature lows on the other hand, are forecast to be between 28 and 33 degree Celsius.
Light to moderate winds can also be expected today, with freshening winds forecast during the daytime which will cause blowing dust. Residents are advised to be cautious as wind speeds are forecast to 40 km/hr across the country.
