Dubai: The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has forecast a mix of fair to partly cloudy conditions across the UAE in the coming days, with a high chance of convective cloud formation — particularly in eastern and southern areas — potentially bringing rainfall through Sunday.

Yesterday, light to moderate rain was reported in Al Ain, and further scattered showers are likely this week, especially during the afternoon hours, as the summer monsoon effect intensifies in parts of the country.

Despite the rainfall, temperatures remain extreme. The highest temperature recorded on Wednesday reached a blistering 49.6°C in Hamim, Al Dhafra region, at 2.30pm. Daytime temperatures across internal regions are expected to range between 44°C and 49°C, with coastal and island areas seeing highs of 39°C to 45°C. Even mountainous areas will not escape the heat, with temperatures peaking between 33°C and 39°C.

The NCM also warned of moderate winds, occasionally freshening during the daytime and stirring up blowing dust, particularly from the southeast to northeast, at speeds of 10–25 km/h, with gusts reaching up to 40 km/h.

Marine conditions are expected to remain calm, with slight seas in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.

Authorities urge residents to stay hydrated, avoid direct sun exposure during peak hours, and drive cautiously in dusty or wet conditions.
