Dubai: UAE residents were greeted by a blanket of fog this morning, prompting the National Center of Meteorology (NCM) to issue yellow and red fog alerts, which will remain in effect until 9 am today. Foggy conditions were observed in several parts of the country, including Dubai-Abu Dhabi road, Al Wathba, Razeen, and Sir Abu Nu’Ays Island in Abu Dhabi, and areas such as Al Wiqan, Bu Kirayyah, Remah, and Al Qou in Al Ain. Additionally, the fog extended to the Al Dhafrah region, covering locations like Bu Hamrah, Abu Qrayan, Owtaid, Qareen, Al Aish, and Tarif.

The NCM has urged motorists to exercise caution due to poor visibility, which can be hazardous on the roads. Drivers are advised to reduce speed and stay alert during this foggy period.

Looking ahead, today’s weather will remain fair to partly cloudy, with clouds expected to build throughout the day. The NCM forecasts possible rainfall, varying in intensity, over scattered areas by the evening and into Monday morning.

Temperatures today will be moderate, with highs ranging between 31°C and 36°C in the interior regions, while coastal areas and islands will experience temperatures from 28°C to 32°C. The mountainous regions will see cooler temperatures, ranging from 25°C to 29°C.

Light to moderate winds are expected to pick up at times, potentially causing blowing dust. Sea conditions will be slight in both the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea.

Stay safe and informed as the fog lifts, and be prepared for possible rainfall in the coming hours.
