Dubai: The weather over the weekend will remain cloudy with chilly mornings and sharp winds at night, with temperatures dipping as low as 3C in the mountain region.

The temperature, according to the NCM, will range from 10-21C in coastal areas, 7-22C in internal areas, and 3-16C in the mountain region.

In its weather forecast, the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) said that over the next two days, northwesterly winds of 20-40km/h will blow across the coastal areas, and cautioned residents that the winds may peak up to 50km/h at times.

“The weather will be partly cloudy in general and hazy at times, with moderate winds expected to blow dust and sand across exposed areas,” said the NCM.

Weather forecast also warned sea-goers of strong winds in the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea, as northwesterly winds will bring waves offshore to reach as high as 11ft.

Until 8am, Raknah was the coldest area on Thursday at a cool 6C. The other four areas which topped the coldest places in the UAE were Damtha at 6C, Jebel Jais at 6.6C, Jebel Hafeet at 7.5C, and Jebel Mabreh at 7.8C.
