Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi Police have called on motorists to remain fully focused on the road and avoid distractions, particularly during traffic congestion or sudden stops, warning that lack of focus can lead to serious accidents.
The Traffic and Patrols Directorate issued the warning in a public awareness video featuring footage of real accidents, produced in collaboration with the Command and Control Centre under the “Your Comment” initiative.

The campaign calls on drivers to adhere to road safety rules and remain alert to unexpected stops on both internal and external roads.
Authorities warned against distractions such as using mobile phones to browse the internet or social media, making calls, taking photos or engaging in other behaviours that divert attention from the road and increase the risk of major traffic accidents.
Abu Dhabi Police said motorists caught driving while distracted face a fine of Dh800 and four traffic black points.
