Dubai: The government of Dubai has called on residents to stay informed with facts amid the rapid spread of misinformation and rumours on social media.

Daily posts claiming statements such as ‘I hear explosions in Dubai,’ 'Dubai faces severe shortage of goods,’ or ‘Life in Dubai has come to a standstill’ have been circulating online.

A closer look shows that many of these posts originate from accounts outside the UAE, often hundreds or thousands of kilometres away, highlighting how misinformation spreads quickly.

Authorities stressed the need to ‘cut through the noise’ and focus on verified facts. Residents have been advised to follow official channels for accurate updates and to rely only on trustworthy sources.
