Celebrated designer Rohit Bal aka Gudda brought the curtains down at the grand finale of Van Heusen India Men's Week's second edition, late on Sunday. And joining him in the naughty league was Bollywood actor hunk John Abraham — Bal's showstopper for the evening.

Kicking off with his signature, vivacious and whimsical designs — inspired by the Shakespearean era — the collection, titled Sharaarat (which means naughty), lived up to expectations.

The drama, however, began much before the show when Bal had the main and adjoining areas sealed off by burly bouncers. The collection — which drew inspiration from a decadent India with a strong ensemble of western sensibilities — highlighted Bal's belief that "boys will be boys".

Noteworthy was the presence of designer Varun Bahl, who sashayed across the ramp in a blue sherwani. Abraham — who wore a black velvet blazer with an embroidered peacock, in addition to jodhpuris and aviators — had the audience screaming for more. The model-turned-actor left women gasping for breath when he returned in a black lace T-shirt.

Bal's collection also included Anarkalis for men, red turbans from Thar, intricate antique silver jewellery paired with chic and contemporary jackets and hand-crafted accessories with black and ivory undertones. The line also saw an extensive use of silk, satin, chanderi (a type of silk) and shredded chiffon, crinkled muslin and treated leather.

The show drew to a close with Bal's signature dance routine, which also saw the designer throw rose petals at the media and the audience, earning him a standing ovation.
