Samitivej Hospital has expanded its standalone Samitivej International Children’s Hospital at Samitivej Srinakarin Hospital in Bangkok, reinforcing its position as a leader in pediatric care. The THB 2 billion ($58.9 million) investment enhances specialised treatments, advanced facilities, and global medical partnerships, attracting patients from Asia and the Middle East.

As Thailand strengthens its status as a medical tourism hub, Samitivej continues to be a top choice for families, particularly from the GCC. In 2023, Thailand’s medical tourism sector was valued at THB 29 billion ($820 million), with over three million international patients seeking specialised care. Samitivej’s latest expansion aims to meet this growing demand.

The hospital offers advanced care for complex conditions, including open-heart surgery, minimally invasive catheterisation, haploidentical bone marrow transplants, CAR-T cell therapy, and vagus nerve stimulation for drug-resistant epilepsy. It also provides comprehensive newborn and pediatric surgical expertise.

The eight-floor hospital features 111 beds, including specialised units for neonatal and paediatric intensive care. Smart Hospital technology enhances efficiency, ensuring precision-driven paediatric surgeries with biplane imaging, specialised neonatal care for premature infants under 500 grams, and robotic-assisted rehabilitation therapies. International patient services include teleconsultations, aeromedical transport, and multilingual care teams.

Samitivej collaborates with leading institutions such as Doernbecher Children’s Hospital (USA) for critical care and Takatsuki General Hospital (Japan) for neonatal and allergy treatments.
