Simone Ashley dazzles in first look at The Devil Wears Prada sequel
Buckle up, fashion lovers, The Devil Wears Prada 2 is officially strutting into production.
It’s been nearly two decades since Miranda Priestly gave us that icy ‘That’s all,’ and now she’s back — along with Andy, Emily, Nigel and several new faces. Directed again by David Frankel and based on Lauren Weisberger’s sequel Revenge Wears Prada: The Devil Returns, the highly-anticipated follow-up is already making headlines with its casting news. And yes, the buzz is very real.
Among the new additions: None other than Bridgerton breakout Simone Ashley, whose casting sent social media spiraling. She was seen on the set looking glamorous as ever, with boots. The photos also featured Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway. "This just feels right."
But Ashley’s not the only fresh face joining the fashion battlefield. According to Deadline, the sequel is assembling a red-carpet-ready roster: Lucy Liu, Justin Theroux, B.J. Novak, Pauline Chalamet, Kenneth Branagh, Conrad Ricamora, Helen J. Shen, and comedian Caleb Hearon are all in. A-list chaos? We’re here for it.
Of course, the original glam squad is reporting for duty too. Meryl Streep returns as the unflinchingly fabulous Miranda Priestly, Anne Hathaway slips back into Andy Sachs’ designer heels (presumably with better posture), and Emily Blunt reprises her role as the savage-yet-loyal Emily Charlton. Stanley Tucci is back as fashion god Nigel, with Tracie Thoms, Tibor Feldman, and yes — Kenneth Branagh playing Miranda’s husband this time around, rounding out the returning icons.
Produced by Wendy Finerman, the original 2006 film became a cult classic for its savage wit, haute couture, and scarily relatable portrayal of burnout in stilettos. This time? Expect even sharper barbs, higher stakes, and plenty of shoulder pads.
