The sequel to 'The Devil Wears Prada' will release in cinemas on May 1, 2026

The Devil Wears Prada 2, the most-anticipated sequel of The Devil Wears Prada, is officially in production. The sequel will also mark the return Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci.
The announcement was made on Instagram by 20th Century Studios, through a small teaser.
The Devil Wears Prada (2006) film was based on the 2004 novel by Lauren Weisberger. It follows the life of an aspiring journalist, Andy Sachs (Anne Hathaway), who is hired as the assistant of Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep), the editor-in-chief of Runway magazine.
The book is said to be inspired by real-life events -- when Weisberger worked as an assistant to Anna Wintour at Vogue.
Currently no plot details for the sequel have been revealed. But according to reports, the storyline will follow Miranda Priestly’s life who faces off against Emily Charlton (Emily Blunt), who is now an executive for a luxury group. Emily used to be Priestly’s assistant in the previous film.
Besides the original cast returning for the sequel, Kenneth Branagh will join them as the husband of Streep’s Priestly.
The Devil Wears Prada 2 is set to hit the screens on May 1, 2026.
