Multiple award-winner dies at her Dadar west home, family sources say
Mumbai: Renowned classical singer Kishori Amonkar died on Tuesday, family sources said. She was 84.
She died at her Dadar west home just before midnight local time, according to the family.
In a singing career spanning seven decades, she was revered as ‘Gaan-Saraswati’. Belonging to the Jaipur Gharana, she won the Padma Vibhushan and Sahitya Akademi Award among many others.
She is survived by two sons and grandchildren.
