Reddit is abuzz with speculation about what could have happened
Tensions are reportedly running high on Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday set, with whispers of a behind-the-scenes clash making waves. Film insider John Rocha, who previously revealed Hulk and The Punisher’s roles in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, claims a joke may have gone too far—sparking an on-set confrontation between two major stars.
Speaking on his podcast with Kristian Harloff, Rocha said, “They are two pretty big actors. Apparently, a comment, from what I understand, was made in jest that was a bit too familiar, because these actors didn’t know each other too well. It crossed a line. One of the actors got really upset about it, confronted the other actor. [It was said] on the set. That caused a big rift. Two very outspoken actors went at each other…one of the actors…Marvel said, ‘We’ll shoot your scenes separately or without the other actor in it, or we’ll figure it out in some other way.’”
The studio reportedly weighed reshoots or adjusting the filming schedule to prevent further tension. Meanwhile, Reddit is buzzing with speculation—some fans wonder if Robert Downey Jr. and Ryan Reynolds could be at the centre of it all, though Marvel has yet to confirm anything. Speculation threads and Reddit deep-dives turned the incident into a full-blown guessing game.
Rocha revealed that the two actors eventually patched things up, with apologies exchanged and no further drama on set. But the spark had already been lit—fans couldn’t resist the mystery. "
Nevertheless all said and done, fans are looking forward to the film. The confirmed cast for the film: Chris Hemsworth, Vanessa Kirby, Anthony Mackie, Letitia Wright, Simu Liu, Paul Rudd, Florence Pugh, Tom Hiddleston, Pedro Pascal, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Robert Downey Jr. and about a dozen more you forgot were in the MCU. Directed by the Russo Brothers, Avengers: Doomsday is set to drop on December 18, 2026.
