Jason Ralph found himself at the center of social media chatter after 'liking' a cryptic Instagram comment about his wife, Rachel Brosnahan, and her Superman co-star, David Corenswet.

The controversy began when a fan encouraged Ralph, 39, to “stand up” for himself and “leave” Brosnahan, 35, if her on-screen chemistry with Corenswet, 32, spilled into real life. Brosnahan and Corenswet play Lois Lane and Clark Kent in the DC Comics blockbuster.

The Instagram message read:
"It’s genuinely sad to see your career being tucked out to be remembered as a cuckold because your wife couldn’t handle herself with her co-actor. Like bro.. let’s have some self love and stand up for yourself man, leave her to be with him if she wants that much at the end of the day."

Instead of responding or ignoring it, Ralph surprised fans by “liking” the comment.

Some social media users criticised him, saying his interaction disrespected both his wife and Corenswet.

"Sorry but if u cant handle dating an actor/actress then dont date/marry one, what is up with ppl," one TikTok user wrote. Another added: "Sorry but most people who marry actors know what they gotta deal with."

Others questioned why Ralph engaged at all:
"I think regardless whether he feels that way or was highlighting how absurd it is, there was no need to engage with it. It is disrespectful to Rachel and through interacting with it, fans are now speculating," one comment read.

Yet another group of fans speculated Ralph’s intentions might have been misunderstood:
"I truly think this is him liking it because it’s absurd, not because he’s like….hurting deeply," one user suggested, with another agreeing, "I know David and his wife, and while I don’t know Jason and Rachel personally, this tracks with Jason’s social media vibe overall!"

Meanwhile, some fans chose to stay out of the drama entirely:
"I am not doing Superman drama now, or ever," one joked.

Ralph and Brosnahan have been married since 2016. Brosnahan confirmed their marriage publicly in 2019, though they had actually tied the knot years earlier. She explained in an interview:

"I’ve been quite private about my personal life for a few reasons. The first being that it’s just that: personal…Jason and I also noticed early on that, while we are both the leads of successful television series, he has almost never been asked about our relationship while I have been asked on almost every red carpet I have walked in the last two years. We both find this double standard problematic and frustrating and opted to redirect those conversations to our work."

Corenswet, meanwhile, married Julia Warner in March 2023, and they welcomed their first child, a daughter, in 2024. Corenswet revealed in 2025 that he learned of Warner’s pregnancy around the same time he was cast as Superman:

"She told me that she was pregnant two days after I found out I was going to screen test for Superman," he told People. "For the first several months of her pregnancy, as is sort of protocol, we weren’t telling anybody. We had these two quite huge secrets that we just had between the two of us. And that was intense."
