Abu Dhabi: No need for re-test on Day 4 and Day 8 if you have active ‘vaccinated’ status
Dubai: Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre (ADPHC) has issued a clarification on the requirement for a re-test on Day 4 and Day 8 for those entering the emirate.
In a post on their official social media accounts, ADPHC stated: “We would like to clarify a frequently asked question about the procedures when entering Abu Dhabi; volunteers in vaccine clinical trials and those vaccinated as part of national vaccination programmes who have active icons (gold star or letter E) on the AlHosn app when entering Abu Dhabi are exempt from the PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) test on Day 4 and Day 8.”
What is the ‘vaccinated’ mark?
Once vaccinated, individuals get a symbol on their AlHosn application that grants exemption from presenting a negative COVID-19 test at the Abu Dhabi border. The mark can be either of the following:
1. Volunteers in the clinical trials will have a gold star
2. Individuals who have been vaccinated in the National Vaccination Programme will see an ‘E’ on the application.
How can you receive the status?
From January 17, Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis and Disasters Committee and Department of Health updated the procedures for exemptions in the emirate. According to the updated guidelines, these symbols will only be visible if a PCR test is taken every seven days.
To retain the vaccination notification on the AlHosn application all those who are vaccinated or volunteering in the National Vaccination Programme will need to be tested weekly.
This status will remain valid for seven days at a time.
Having this icon on the Alhosn app would exempt you from taking a PCR or Diffractive Phase Interferometry (DPI) test while entering the emirate of Abu Dhabi, as well as the re-test requirements on Day 4 and Day 8.
