Al Kurdi becomes first Arab golfer to make cut at DP World Tour event in UAE

Jordanian Shergo Al Kurdi made history on Friday by becoming the first Arab golfer to make the cut in a DP World Tour event in the UAE.
The 18-year-old professional shot two rounds of 68 to lie eight-under par and in tied eighth position in the $2 million Ras Al Khaimah Classic held at Al Hamra Golf Club. Six players lie tied for second on nine-under with the leader, New Zealand’s Ryan Fox, out on his own, having a three-shot lead with two rounds to go.
Al Kurdi managed 10 birdies to date with just two bogeys. In the third round, he will play alongside Scotland’s Robert MacIntyre and Swede Alexander Bjork at 11.27am.
