UAE: How you can check your labour contract online
Dubai: Working professionals in the UAE are required to sign a work contract to officially and legally work in the country. The work contract, which is drawn up between the employer and the employee, provides important details of the working relationship, like the rights and responsibilities of both the parties, the working hours, off days and salary structure.
If you wish to refer to your labour contract at any point during your work tenure, you can access it easily through online services provided by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE), which is the ministry that oversees all labour related issues in the UAE.
Always read your contract before signing
As reported by Gulf News earlier, according to the Civil Transactions Law in Article 257, the employee has a right to read the contract before signing it. So, you can refuse to sign your labour contract if you are not allowed to read it in full.
How to check your work contract online
However, even if you have read your work contract, you may still need to refer to it at a later date. To do so, you can do so through the following channels:
- MOHRE website – www.mohre.gov.ae
- MOHRE app – MOHRE UAE
Step 1: Login using your registration details
Step 2: Under services, click on the ‘My contract’ service
Step 3: Click on ‘Apply for this service’
Step 4: Enter your passport number, nationality and date of birth. Click on ‘Submit’
The app or website will then provide you with your complete work contract.
It is important to note that this service is for employees who are registered under MOHRE. If you work in a free zone, you would need to contact the relevant free zone authority to get your work contract.
