Dubai: A man has been arrested by Saudi Authorities for allegedly impersonating an inspector general at the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, officials said on Sunday.

Nasser Al Hazzani, the ministry’s spokesperson, said the suspect visited shops and establishments in Madinah, impersonating an inspector general and asking for money.

On his Twitter account, Al Hazzani said the suspect was arrested in coordination between the ministry’s office in Madinah and the Special Security and Criminal Investigation Department at the Madinah Police.

He was referred to Public Prosecution for further investigations and legal action.
