Islamabad: Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao will address the joint session of Parliament next Sunday. Speaker National Assembly Dr Fehmida Mirza will chair the joint morning session of the Parliament.

After the address of the Chinese PM, the joint sitting will be prorogued.The joint session will be followed by summoning of the session of National Assembly on December 20 for the passage of General Sales Tax (Amendment) Bill, 2010.

Special security arrangements will be made for the joint session with entrance passes strictly required even in the vicinity of Red Zone.

Premier Wen Jiabao, will be the sixth world leader to address the joint sitting of Pakistan's Parliament.

The other five foreign dignitaries who had addressed the joint sitting of the Parliament in the past, when in office, include current Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, former Sri Lankan Prime Minister Sirimavo Bandaranaike, ex-Turkish President Kenan Evran, former Iranian President Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani and Queen Elizabeth of Britain.

President Asif Ali Zardari on Sunday called up PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif and invited him to a banquet in honour of the Chinese Prime Minister during his visit to Pakistan this week. Sharif has accepted the invitation.
