Dubai: Two accidents resulted in injuries to 20 people, varying in degrees of severity, on Saturday and Sunday.
Also on Sunday, a concrete-mixer truck caught fire in Al Nahda 1 area at around 1.30pm. No one was injured in the fire.
Brig Saif Muhair Al Mazroui, director of Dubai Traffic Police, said 14 people were injured in an accident near the Dubai World Trade Centre bridge on Saturday around 7.30am.
“A Serbian man’s vehicle swerved in front of an Indian man’s four-wheel-drive vehicle, and the Indian driver crashed into him. Three minutes later, a bus hit the four-wheel-drive vehicle resulting in one severe injury, three moderate and 10 minor.”
Also on Sunday, a vehicle hitting a metal barrier led to a five car pile-up that resulted in six injuries.
The accident took place on the Dubai-Al Ain Road around 10.40pm.
“Two people were moderately injured and four people sustained minor injuries,” he said.
