General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince and UAE Defence Minister, inaugurated in the presence of Shaikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Information and Culture, the new premises of the Sultan Al Owais Cultural Foundation. Shaikh Mohammad unveiled the Dh60 million 10-storey building. He visited a photography exhibition and museum on the late Sultan Bin Ali Al Owais and a well-equipped library on the new premises. The UAE holds an important position in the world of Arab culture as a result of the contributions of several far-sighted, creative men, said Shaikh Mohammad at the opening ceremony. He described Sultan Bin Ali Al Owais as “a prominent UAE national poet and personality” and acknowledged his outstanding contributions to UAE culture. Also added that he was a founders of an important cultural movement, as a result of which the country holds an estimable position in the world of Arab art, literature and thought.
