Dubai: For the first time, UAE Nationals will be represented at the World Amateur Muaythai Championships in Bangkok between November 27th and December 4th.

The team will consist of 6 of the UAE's top fighters across a number of weight divisions; Mansoor Lootah (73 kilos) Mohammad Darwish (64 kilos) Najmeddin Al Haddad (61 kilos) Malik Omarov (72 kilos) Mohammad Sanad (67 kilos) and Wyel Alnaqbi (68 kilos).

Vladimir Burdun, representative of the International Federation of Muaythai Amateurs and President of its top performing stable, Dubai Fight Academy, explained: "Over the last three years we have been building a reputation here in the UAE as a centre for martial arts excellence. Our invitation to the World's largest ever Amateur Muaythai Championships is full justification for our efforts."

The event will see teams from 90 nations competing over 8 days across 12 weight divisions to ultimately find out who are the best muaythai amateurs in the world.

Muaythai is recognised as the toughest of all martial arts.
