Dubai: Mo'en Ahmad won a cliff-hanger against Xavier Raphel to storm into the final of the India Club Western Union UAE Open Badminton tournament.

In a breath-taking and hard-fought semi-final, played at the India Club, Ahmad won 23-25, 21-19, 24-22. He will take on the winner of the second semi-final between Vivek Nair and C. P. Shibil.

Ahmad also qualified for the men's doubles semi-finals when he teamed up with Asep Anfriyana to beat Vishnu B and Praveen Babu 21-16, 21-14.
