Dubai: Meydan sponsors today's ninth and final meeting of the 2010 Dubai International Racing Carnival (DIRC), which is a seven race all-thoroughbred fixture highlighted by the Group 2 Zabeel Mile, run over 1600m.

Four conditions races make up the inaugural Meydan Masters international jockeys challenge. Commenting on the Meydan Masters, Meydan Board member Malih Lahej Al Basti said: "We are very excited to watch the jockey's challenge unfold, and to see who, out of the 12 fantastic riders we have taking part, will be crowned the first ever Meydan Masters Champion".

Dubai Racing Club Chief Executive Officer Frank Gabriel Jr said: "Friday's race meeting is set to be a very classy affair, and we are proud to see the very first edition of our new initiative, the Meydan Masters.

"This season has been ground-breaking with the opening of Meydan, the introduction of a new racing surface and having the eyes of the racing world upon us. It is has been a very successful DIRC and the Meydan Masters promises to bring the curtain down in impressive style".

Mohammad A. Nasser Al Khayat, Commercial Director of Meydan said: "We are proud to be the proponents of acknowledging the immense talents of these leading international jockeys, all of whom are all champions in their own right. The inaugural Meydan Masters is indeed a deserving platform for this and a wonderful end to the DIRC as we head towards the first ever Dubai World Cup to be held at Meydan on March 27."

Entrance to the public areas of Meydan Racecourse is free of charge and there are also complimentary transfers at the end of the night from Meydan Racecourse to Emirates Towers and Souk Madinat.
