Raja Trad has been named as Chairman of Publicis Groupe M. E., a newly created position that is in step with the ad giant’s ‘Country Leadership Model’ launched in April last year. So far, the model has been applied to Publicis Groupe’s operations in its home market France, and then in the UK, Italy, Africa and the Asia-Pacific territory.

Trad will now oversee all of the Group‘s operations in the region, which includes Publicis Communications, Publicis Media, and Publicis. Sapient. He will report to Loris Nold, CEO Publicis Groupe APAC.

“Our strategy relies on two very important pillars: a solution-led approach and a country-led approach,” said Nold in a statement. “This to ensure that we accelerate on our global game changers while driving the acceleration at country level. “The Power of One has generated some great examples of collaboration in the Middle East and it has transformed the way we work with our clients while bringing great opportunities to our talents. We are already seeing the first benefits of this organisation — we have the right team and the right model to accelerate in the region.”

Trad started his career at Leo Burnett in 1981 and working his way to being the CEO Leo Burnett M. E. in 1991. In 2016, he was appointed CEO of Publicis Communications MEA. In a statement, Trad said: “It will be my endeavour in the coming years to accelerate collaboration across our solution hubs and all of their agencies in the region.”
