Dubai: The Ministry of Human Resources held a meeting with officials and representatives from global retail sector companies to discuss updates pertaining to Emiratisation and creating job opportunities for Emiratis in the sector.

It is the second of a series of meetings held by the ministry with companies operating in economic sectors that are targeted by the ministry’s initiative. The initiative aims to offer around 3,500 job opportunities in 100 days for Emiratis, which include 500 jobs in the insurance sector and 1,000 jobs in the financial, banking, tourism and retail sectors.

A total of 340 jobs have so far been created in the retail sector.

During the meeting held with representatives, Nasser Thani Al Hameli, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation, said that boosting the employment of Emiratis is at the forefront of the ministry’s priorities. He reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to fulfilling its responsibilities by providing all necessary support to corporations and companies operating in strategic sector targeted by the initiative. Al Hameli said that the ministry assists these companies in carrying out their responsibilities, which contributes to increasing job opportunities for citizens in the private sector, eventually culminating in achieving Emiratisation targets of UAE Vision 2021’s National Agenda.
