In its ninth edition, the LVMH Prize for young designers began accepting application from December 8, 2021. Applicants who wish to be part of the process must submit their applications on the Prize website -- lvmhprize.com. The closing date for submissions is Sunday January 30, 2022.

LVMH launched the Prize for Young Fashion Designers in 2013. This initiative is open to fashion creatives throughout the globe. The Prize is part of the House’s commitment to nurture young talent across the world.

The semi-final will take place on March 2 , 2022, and will be open for viewing on the prize website and social networks from Thursday, Sunday 3 until March 6, 2022. This will provide a timeframe for judges, as well as the public to discover and pick the winners.

The award is part of the Group and its various House’s commitment to support new talent. Designers under 40 who have created at least collections of womenswear or menswear, or two agender collections, will be considered for the prize.

There are two categories to play for. The winner of the LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers will get 300,000 Euros, along with mentorship. The winners will receive mentorship across several fields including sustainable development, communication, copyright and corporate legal aspects, as well as marketing, production and the financial management.

Then, there is the Karl Lagerfeld Prize, whose winner will receive 150,000 Euros as well as a one-year mentorship by LVMH teams.

Additionally, the Prize also recognises three young fashion school graduates. As many as three shortlisted graduates will be invited to join the design studios of Houses of the LVMH Group for one year.
