Online quiz for students begins

The Signal e-Quiz 2005, the UAE?s biggest online quiz competition, has begun.

Organisers Dubaiquiz said the quiz is for two age groups: 8 to 12 and 13 to 18. Each group has five quiz categories: health, home, movies, school and playground. The online quiz will continue until January 30.

To participate, a student needs to have a copy of The Book of Knowledge. Vol-5, available in schools and bookshops. Each book has an E-Quiz number through which he/she can log on to Dubaiquiz.com and enter the competition.

There will be winners in each quiz category, plus a grand online winner for juniors and seniors. The first 100 will then qualify for the offline quiz. A total of Dh200,000 is offered in prizes that include laptops, PSPs, MP3 players and digital cameras.

A costume party on Thursday afternoon at Adventureland, Sahara Centre, Sharjah, will celebrate the quiz?s fifth edition.
