Dubai: Burj residents no longer have to worry about washing their dirty linen. An indigenous hi-tech laundry will do the job for them.

Laundrybox, launched on April 3, offers a new spin on laundry by combining a state-of-the art laundry facility with custom computerised luxury lockers fitted inside residential and commercial buildings to give a 24/7 laundry service at the doorstep.

All that one need do is create an online account and use the login details at the locker kiosk to access a locker. Laundrybox will then collect and process the dirty clothes. The following day customers get an SMS notification that their clean laundry has been delivered to their assigned locker. Those who want the laundry home-delivered get a call asking when it can be sent. “We set out to modernise and automate the entire spectrum of the laundry process. We invested a lot of time and effort in developing a proprietary software that’s smart, adaptable and comprehensive in order to ensure customers get a hassle free and dependable laundry service anytime they want the way they want,” said Laundrybox founder Bader Al Kalooti.

Payments can be made through credit card, online or at the locker kiosk.

While Burj Residences in Downtown Dubai is the first residential community offering this convenient service, Laundrybox has plans to soon reach out to residents in Downtown, Dubai Marina, Jumeirah Lake Towers and Palm Jumeirah.

“We have a ‘locker request’ service on our website, so we urge tenants or landlords who are interested in Laundrybox to visit our website and submit an activation request so we are able to service their building as well,” said Kalooti.
